We are all moved in at the new Pre-School and Lower School and ready for this new season! Our teachers worked extra hard to put together desks, unpack boxes, and move furniture all with a smile on their face! Thank you to everyone who helped us with all of the heavy lifting. We are grateful for the NEXT 40 as one campus in Carnes!
'WAY TO GO'
As the school year comes to a close, students with Academic Achievements are recognized at our Awards Banquet. We were proud to recognize two Seniors who have worked hard throughout their academic career, and rose to the top of their class.

'XALT SPRING PERFORMANCE'
We would like to extend a "JOB WELL DONE" to our XALT team! They worked so hard to prepare their lines, saxophone solos, and music in order to tell the story of a young girl in the Holocaust in an important performance of "The Diary of Anne Frank". Though the topic was heavy, the reminder was strong - never forget, so that history like this may never be repeated!
Our Lower School Robotics Club took part in their first ever Robotics competition. They excelled in the art of teamwork and worked together to overcome the obstacles they faced when presenting their robot. They took home a 1st Place title in the 'Meet and Greet' division! We are so proud of our Northwood Academy 'Master Builders'!! ⚡
'STATE HOUSE VISIT'
Our Varsity Girls Basketball Team travelled to the State House to be recognized for their accomplishment in winning the State Championship! They were so grateful for this incredible opportunity!⚡️

The Class of 2017 announced where they will be furthering their education by wearing their college t-shirt! They have all worked so hard to accomplish their goals and we are so excited for this next chapter in each of their lives. Congratulations Class of 2017 - now go and change the world!
'A JOURNEY THROUGH AMERICAN HISTORY'
Each year, our 8th Grade class participates in a project called 'A Journey through American History', where they portray our founding fathers, inventors, writers, scientists, and others who have contributed to the growth of our nation! They spent many weeks studying, building, writing, and rehearsing. They proudly presented their work to our Lower School students, family and friends. GREAT JOB!

Northwood Academy participated in the SCISA Regional Spelling Bee January 25th. Christian Herrman (7th grade) placed 3rd in his grade level. The students were competing against nine other schools with hundreds of participants. We C-O-N-G-R-A-T-U-L-A-T-E our top spellers!
Construction on the new Lower School portion of the campus has been on schedule, and we are starting to see our "One Campus" vision coming to fruition! SPIRITUAL EMPHASIS WEEK
Our Upper School students have kicked off Spiritual Emphasis week! Each year, our student body participates in a week of morning chapels where they gather together to worship, and are challenged by the word. This year, we are blessed to have Paul Garrido from Summerbrook Church encouraging us to pray bold prayers and always pray with expectation!
"FOUR PERFECT PEBBLES"
We were so honored to have Mrs. Marion Blumenthal Lazan come to speak at our Upper School Assembly. She left us with a sense of purpose and understanding of how good can come from such evil as she shared her story of courage, hope and the will to survive during the holocaust. Each of our students will receive a signed copy of her memoir "Four Perfect Pebbles" thanks to a generous grant from the South Carolina Council on the Holocaust. A special thank you to Mrs. Deveaux who made this possible, and to our talented students Candace Herrman and Makenna Bryant for presenting an interpretive dance to honor Marion and her story.
