'XALT SPRING PERFORMANCE'
We would like to extend a "JOB WELL DONE" to our XALT team! They worked so hard to prepare their lines, saxophone solos, and music in order to tell the story of a young girl in the Holocaust in an important performance of "The Diary of Anne Frank". Though the topic was heavy, the reminder was strong - never forget, so that history like this may never be repeated!
Our Lower School Robotics Club took part in their first ever Robotics competition. They excelled in the art of teamwork and worked together to overcome the obstacles they faced when presenting their robot. They took home a 1st Place title in the 'Meet and Greet' division! We are so proud of our Northwood Academy 'Master Builders'!! ⚡

'A JOURNEY THROUGH AMERICAN HISTORY'
Each year, our 8th Grade class participates in a project called 'A Journey through American History', where they portray our founding fathers, inventors, writers, scientists, and others who have contributed to the growth of our nation! They spent many weeks studying, building, writing, and rehearsing. They proudly presented their work to our Lower School students, family and friends. GREAT JOB!

SPIRITUAL EMPHASIS WEEK
Our Upper School students have kicked off Spiritual Emphasis week! Each year, our student body participates in a week of morning chapels where they gather together to worship, and are challenged by the word. This year, we are blessed to have Paul Garrido from Summerbrook Church encouraging us to pray bold prayers and always pray with expectation!
"FOUR PERFECT PEBBLES"
We were so honored to have Mrs. Marion Blumenthal Lazan come to speak at our Upper School Assembly. She left us with a sense of purpose and understanding of how good can come from such evil as she shared her story of courage, hope and the will to survive during the holocaust. Each of our students will receive a signed copy of her memoir "Four Perfect Pebbles" thanks to a generous grant from the South Carolina Council on the Holocaust. A special thank you to Mrs. Deveaux who made this possible, and to our talented students Candace Herrman and Makenna Bryant for presenting an interpretive dance to honor Marion and her story.
