Northwood Academy is one of around 2,000 schools worldwide approved to offer the College Board® internationally recognized AP Capstone Diploma™.
Here’s how the College Board describes the program: “AP Capstone™ is a diploma program based on two yearlong AP® courses: AP® Seminar and AP® Research. These courses are designed to complement other AP® courses that the AP Capstone™ student may take.
Instead of teaching specific subject knowledge, AP® Seminar and AP® Research use an interdisciplinary approach to develop the critical thinking, research, collaboration, time management, and presentation skills students need for college-level work.”
Our AP Capstone Diploma™ is anchored with the following Advanced Placement® courses. Students would be required to take the following AP® courses.
• AP® Seminar (11th grade-required)
• AP® Research (12th grade-required)
• AP® English Literature (12th grade-required)
In addition to the required Advanced Placement® courses, a student must complete at least 3 additional AP® courses offered at Northwood Academy.
• AP® World History
• AP® English Language and Composition
• AP® US History
• AP® Biology
• AP® Chemistry
• AP® Computer Science
• AP® U.S. Government and Politics
• AP® Calculus
Upon graduation, students earning an AP Capstone Diploma™ would have taken 6 or more AP® courses, earning a score of 3 or higher in each course.|
This is an elite academic program that prepares students for the highest levels of academic achievement after high school.
